STATE REPRESENTATIVE DOUGLAS C. WOZNIAK FILES FOR 24TH DISTRICT STATE SENATE SEAT

Dear Macomb County Friends,

After thoughtful consideration and conversations with community members, I am announcing my candidacy for State Senator in the 24th District, which now includes communities entirely within Macomb County due to recent redistricting.

I am currently serving my fourth term as State Representative for the 59th District. My background as a small business owner, attorney, former Shelby Township Trustee, and public servant has given me a strong understanding of the needs of our families, seniors, and local businesses.

I am proud of my record fighting for road funding, lower costs, senior protections, government transparency, and support for our schools. My office has helped thousands of residents access the services and benefits they deserve, and I remain committed to responsive and effective representation.

Guided by common-sense conservative principles, I will continue focusing on seniors, veterans, education, small businesses, and homeowners while working to strengthen Macomb County’s economy.

Lawmaker given high marks for conservative votes - Wozniak recognized for voting over 90% that way

Republican state Rep. Doug Wozniak of Shelby Township has received the Center for Legislative Accountability’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session. He voted that way in 92% of the tallies.

“I’m honored to be recognized for my commitment to supporting policies focused on smaller government, lower spending, and conservative ideas,” Wozniak said in a news release. “It’s critical we do all we can to lead our state and country away from radical spending that is crippling the middle class. Working people need tax relief, not more burdensome government oversight.”

The CLA, an initiative of the Conservative Political Action Conference, maintains scorecards for congress and states legislatures throughout the country.

Wozniak, 77, an attorney and real estate agent, is in his third state House of Representatives term and served for a short time in the state Senate.
